Ellie Stickland studied Jewellery design at Central Saint Martins, and worked in the industry for a number of years as well as a stint in the finance industry which then propelled her to setting up on her own in January 2013.

She originally worked as a designer under her own name doing bespoke pieces of jewellery for the first few years before deciding to separate her commercial work from the more creative pieces. Consequently Ellie set up Eladore, a range which specialises in wedding and celebration jewellery. Eladore sells collection pieces and still undertakes bespoke work, with drawing and customers’ unique stories being at the heart of the business. Under her own name, Ellie works across the medium of painting, sculpture and jewellery art.

Ellie heard about the Start Up Loan Company at a time when she needed an injection of capital and applied through the website there and then. Her ambition is to be as creative as possible and to create jewellery that people love which is as well made as it is designed, and Start Up Loans has helped her to do just that.

Ellie used her loan monies to build her portfolio and buy packaging for her jewellery. She has since had a further loan to help fund collection pieces and the new brand Eladore brand, which is available through the online retailer ‘Not on the High Street’ as well as her own website. These collections are easier to produce and less bespoke but are still all made to order.
